Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone Walid Gamal El-Din received on Wednesday Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Egypt Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi to discuss strengthening economic and investment co-operation, review investment opportunities within the SCZone and explore collaboration in sectors of mutual interest. Several senior SCZone officials were present.

During the meeting, SCZone chairman said the authority offers an integrated investment model comprising four industrial zones and six seaports on the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, providing a comprehensive platform that links industry, logistics and international trade.

He noted that the authority continues to enhance the investment climate by simplifying procedures, upgrading infrastructure and improving investor services, creating competitive advantages that support production, exports and access to global markets.

The chairman also stressed the authority’s aspiration to deepen co-operation with Oman and build sustainable investment partnerships by leveraging the strengths of both countries, particularly in priority sectors including industry, logistics and food security.

He added that greater integration between the ports and industrial zones of both countries would strengthen supply chains, expand trade and investment flows and generate added value for the Egyptian and Omani economies.

For his part, the Omani ambassador highlighted the longstanding fraternal relations between Oman and Egypt, noting that the next phase will focus on expanding economic and investment co-operation in line with Oman Vision 2040, particularly in industry, logistics, food security and tourism.

He also expressed the Omani side’s interest in strengthening communication between the business communities of both countries through reciprocal visits and business meetings to explore investment opportunities and establish new partnerships.

The two sides also discussed an upcoming visit next month by an Omani economic delegation to the integrated industrial zone in Ain Sokhna to review investment opportunities, infrastructure and existing industrial projects, and explore prospects for future co-operation and partnership.
