Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati met Saturday in Doha Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The meeting came after their participation in the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting in Manila, as part of ongoing daily consultations and continuous coordination between Egypt and Qatar.
Both ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to boosting bilateral co-operation across all domains, with particular emphasis on economic and trade relations.
They also reviewed means to expand investment partnerships between Cairo and Doha.
The two ministers also reviewed regional developments, stressing the need for continued efforts by all regional parties to contain rising tensions.
They underscored the necessity of translating these efforts into a sustainable ceasefire, a return to negotiations, full adherence to the terms of the existing memorandum of understanding, and the resumption of direct talks between the US and Iran.
The two ministers agreed to maintain close consultation and coordination until de-escalation efforts reach a successful conclusion.
On the Palestinian front, the ministers discussed the latest developments in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. They reiterated the importance of full implementation of President Donald Trump’s plan — including all Phase One commitments — and advancing toward Phase Two.
