Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Ashraf Salem Zaher attended on Sunday the Military Technical College’s Scientific Day.
The day featured the closing ceremony of the 10th International Military Technical College Competition (Lieutenant General Ibrahim Selim Award) and the announcement of the results of the 10th International Military Technical College Conference for Undergraduate Research and Innovation.
Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces, a number of ministers, military attachés, university presidents and public figures attended the event.
The competition included the 10th Unmanned Systems Competition covering land, air and maritime platforms, the sixth Satellite Competition, and the fourth Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Competitions, reflecting the Armed Forces’ continued commitment to promoting scientific research, innovation and advanced technological capabilities.
College Director Major General Hussein Mustafa Sharaf highlighted the continuous support provided by the General Command of the Armed Forces for research and technological development at the college, aimed at preparing highly qualified graduates capable of innovation and keeping pace with rapid scientific and technological advances.
The ceremony featured a documentary reviewing the college’s scientific achievements during the 2025/2026 academic year, followed by the announcement of the competition results, recognition of the best research papers presented at the international conference, and acknowledgement of faculty members who earned academic degrees and titles during the academic year.
Following the ceremony, the minister toured the accompanying scientific exhibition, where he reviewed a range of graduation projects developed by students of the Military Technical College and engineering faculties from Egyptian and international universities, in addition to research projects presented by faculty members.
He praised the high scientific standard demonstrated by the participants and encouraged them to continue pursuing innovation and developing practical scientific solutions that contribute to addressing societal challenges, stressing that scientific research remains a fundamental pillar of national development and progress.
