Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli announced on Wednesday that the cabinet will receive a comprehensive implementation plan within the next ten days to begin implementing President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on ensuring the availability of essential goods, maintaining price stability and reducing costs for citizens.

Speaking at a press conference at the conclusion of an eight-hour inspection tour covering agricultural, livestock, development and urban projects in Giza, Menoufia, Beheira, Marina and New Alamein City, Madbouli said intensive meetings had already been held to translate the president’s directives into practical measures.

He explained that the food security plan will be implemented through co-operation between the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority and the Ministries of Supply and Agriculture.

The prime minister also announced that the New Alamein International Conference and Exhibition Centre will host several African and international events next October, supporting President Sisi’s vision of transforming the city into a year-round hub for global conferences and exhibitions while further strengthening its international profile.

Addressing regional developments, the prime minister said the renewed conflict had demonstrated the importance of adopting a cautious approach to fuel pricing decisions, recalling that he had previously warned against making rapid adjustments when global oil prices temporarily declined.

He noted that oil prices had since rebounded from around $72 to approximately $85 per barrel, stressing that the government continues to manage these developments while supporting international efforts to restore regional stability through ongoing diplomatic engagement led by President Sisi and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Madbouli said the government continues to coordinate with the Central Bank and the Ministries of Finance and Petroleum to secure Egypt’s petroleum needs while accelerating renewable energy projects to reduce reliance on imported conventional fuels.

He also highlighted progress at the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant following the installation of the pressure vessel for the second reactor, expressing hope that electricity generation would begin by the end of 2028 once the four reactors are completed.

Reviewing the implementation of President Sisi’s recent directives, the prime minister said three meetings had been held covering food security, media development and the integration of informal employment into the formal economy.

He said preparations are under way for the media conference called for by the President, while the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) is being restructured to support young entrepreneurs and encourage small-scale industrial projects.

Madbouli also highlighted positive economic indicators, noting that Egypt’s foreign currency reserves had exceeded $55 billion for the first time, increasing by nearly $2 billion in one month.

He said inflation continues to decline but stressed that the government’s priority is ensuring citizens feel the benefits through stable prices and adequate supplies of goods.

He added that daily market monitoring continues alongside efforts to strengthen supply chains, reduce intermediaries and expand local production, emphasising that increased production is the key to enhancing competition and lowering prices.
