Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty held a phone call with Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, during which the Russian side officially announced the selection of the industrial developer for the Russian Industrial Estate within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
Minister Abdel Aaty emphasised the importance of this step in activating of the Russian zone, attracting investments, and moving toward actual operations in the near future. He noted that this development builds on his talks with Russian officials and major companies during his visit to Moscow in April 2026.
For his part, Alikhanov praised Egypt’s efforts in launching and facilitating the Russian Industrial Zone, highlighting the legislative measures, incentives, and advanced facilities provided by the Egyptian side. He reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to activating the zone and continuing joint effortsto expand investment and trade cooperation.
