Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy began an official visit to Abu Dhabi with a field inspection of Enppi’s operations in Habshan, where Egyptian teams are carrying out one of the UAE’s largest energy projects.

The minister was joined by senior officials including CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, Salah Abdelkarim, Enppi Chairman, Khaled Ibrahim and Petrojet Chairman Walid Lotfy.

The project, being carried out by Enppi and Petrojet in partnership for ADNOC Gas, involves gas pre-treatment in Habshan and its integration with the Ruwais LNG project under a turnkey system.

Minister Badawy emphasised that the success of Egyptian petroleum companies in delivering major projects abroad reflects their engineering expertise and competitiveness, earning the trust of leading global energy firms. He noted this achievement aligns with the ministry’s strategy to expand into international markets and build sustainable partnerships, particularly with ADNOC.

The minister lauded Enppi’s record in implementing petroleum and industrial projects to global standards, highlighting its effective collaboration with Petrojet as a model of integration. He pointed out that the companies’ growing presence in the UAE and Saudi Arabia underscores Egypt’s rising role in regional energy markets.

Badawy assured continued government support for the external expansion of Egyptian firms, in line with national directives to enhance competitiveness and increase contributions to international projects.

He also met with workers on site, thanking them for their efforts and encouraging them to maintain the strong reputation of Egypt’s petroleum sector abroad.

Enppi has earned recognition in global rankings, listed among the world’s top international contractors by ENR and ranked by MEED Projects as one of the leading Arab contractors in the GCC, reinforcing its regional and international standing in energy and infrastructure.
