Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif affirmed that the Orthopaedic Supplies Factory’s winning of the internationally-recognised ISO 13485:2016 certification reflects the organisation’s commitment to applying the highest international quality standards across the medical industries sector.

He noted that the certification enhances the competitiveness of products manufactured by the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation in local and international markets and supports efforts to expand exports of Egyptian-made medical supplies.

These remarks came during a ceremony held to celebrate the Arab African Company for Medical Industries (Orthopaedic Supplies Factory) winning of the ISO 13485:2016 certification from TÜV NORD, in recognition of its expertise in the design, development, manufacture, marketing and distribution of orthopaedic supplies and surgical instruments.

Major General Abdel Latif explained that this achievement is in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to localise advanced technology and deepen domestic manufacturing within the medical industries sector, thereby supporting national efforts to meet the needs of the healthcare sector and increase reliance on high-quality Egyptian products.

The chairman also expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Health and Population, the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management, the Egyptian Drug Authority, TÜV NORD Hellas and DMG MORI for their support in enabling the factory to implement international quality standards and obtain the certification.

For her part, Vice President of TÜV NORD Hellas Tarsi Giannoli affirmed that the certification provides the company with a significant competitive advantage and opens broader prospects for expanding exports to Arab and African markets.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of DMG MORI Rajiv Anand praised the co-operation with AOI, stressing that industrial digitalisation and the modernisation of production equipment contribute to enhancing manufacturing efficiency, reducing costs and strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian products in international markets.
