Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday on the sidelines of the Arab League Council’s 165th session and an Arab foreign ministers’ consultative meeting in Amman.
The talks highlighted the historic ties between Egypt and Jordan, with Abdelatty praising the regular meetings of the joint higher committee and expressing hope for stronger economic, investment, and trade cooperation.
The two ministers also discussed the U.S.–Iran negotiations following the memorandum of understanding, stressing the importance of building on progress to ease regional tensions and support stability.
On the Palestinian issue, they underscored the need to complete all requirements of the U.S. plan’s first phase, ensure the flow of humanitarian and medical aid to Gaza, and condemned ongoing Israeli violations in the West Bank.
The meeting concluded with agreement to continue close coordination and consultation between Egypt and Jordan, strengthen cooperation mechanisms, and maintain joint efforts on regional and international issues of common concern.
