Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Suleiman Gomblat, and representatives of South Korea’s Poongsandiscussed on Sunday opportunities for partnership and the localisation of advanced technologies.
The ministry is implementing a comprehensive strategy focused on deepening local manufacturing and transferring modern technologies to build an advanced defense industrial base, Gomblat said during the meeting.
He added that strategic international partnerships are a cornerstone for boosting Egypt’s national manufacturing capabilities, highlighting the growing co-operation between Egypt and South Korea under the support of both countries’ leadership.
The meeting, was held at the ministry’s training sector in El-Salam City, where discussions covered areas of mutual interest, including defense industries, technical expertise exchange, and supply chain integration.
Gomblat pointed out that Egypt’s military production companies possess advanced industrial and technological infrastructure, as well as extensive experience, enabling fruitful partnerships that serve shared interests.
He also stressed the importance of combining qualified human resources with modern technological systems and updated production methods, underlining the ministry’s commitment to investing in its workforce and adopting advanced manufacturing systems.
For their part, Poongsan representatives praised the capabilities of Egypt’s military production companies and expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation, noting that defense industries remain a fundamental pillar of national power.
The meeting was attended by a host of the ministry’s senior officials.
