The Egypt-Oman joint military exercise codenamed “Castle of the Mountain 2” has kicked off with the participation of personnel from Egypt’s Thunderbolt Forces and Oman’s Special Forces.
The exercise is being conducted over several days at combat training ranges operated by the Thunderbolt Forces in Egypt.
The first phase of the exercise included a series of theoretical lectures on various topics aimed at unifying operational concepts and enhancing integration and interoperabilityamong the participating personnel.
An exhibition showcasing weapons and equipment used by both sides during the training was also organised.
The exercise is scheduled to include a number of practical activities and field drills designed to achieve the planned objectives, facilitate the exchange of tactical expertise between the two sides, and maximise the benefits for participating forces.
The “Castle of the Mountain 2″ drill reflects the deep-rooted and distinguished military relations between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, while supporting ongoing efforts to boost co-operation, coordination and the exchange of expertise between the armed forces of the two brotherly countries.
