Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the implementation status of first-phase projects under the presidential “Decent Life” (Hayah Karima) initiative, which aims to develop rural communities across Egypt.

At the start of the meeting, Madbouli stressed that the government is pressing ahead with efforts to complete the first phase of the initiative, which is being implemented across 20 governorates, 52 districts, 333 local units and 1,477 villages, benefiting nearly 20 million citizens.

He underscored the importance of these projects in improving the quality of life and living standards of residents in the targeted villages, reaffirming the state’s commitment to delivering tangible development gains to rural communities.

Madbouli also directed the swift completion and operation of the projects to ensure citizens can promptly benefit from the services they provide. He highlighted the initiative’s transformative impact, noting the significant improvement in the quality of public services in villages where projects have already entered operation.

Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed El-Homsani said the meeting reviewed the overall implementation progress of the initiative’s first-phase projects.

He noted that projects have been completed in 782 villages, representing 91.3 per cent of the total targeted projects. To date, 23,161 projects have been completed out of a total of 27,332, while 17,595 projects have been officially handed over.
