Brazil defeated Egypt 2-1 in an international friendly match at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
This game served as the final warmup match for both nations as they complete their preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The action began almost immediately with both teams trading early goals after defensive mistakes.
Brazil took the lead in the seventh minute when midfielder Bruno Guimarães pounced on a loose pass in the Egyptian penalty box and fired the ball home. However, Egypt responded just four minutes later when forward Mostafa Zico intercepted a weak back-pass from Brazilian defender Marquinhos to calmly level the score.
Brazil regained the lead early in the second half through a brilliant team goal.
Egypt fought hard for a second equalizer and created several late opportunities, but Brazil’s defense held strong to secure the victory.
With this final test complete, both teams are now heading to their official tournament base camps.
Brazil will look to carry this winning momentum into their opening group match against Morocco next week. Meanwhile, Egypt will travel to Spokane to finalize their strategy before kicking off their World Cup campaign in Group G against Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.
