Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held two separate telephone conversations on Tuesday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, to review the latest regional developments.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khalaf stated that the discussions focused on the trajectory of U.S.–Iran negotiations. Both calls included an exchange of views on ways to advance the diplomatic track and efforts to reach a compromise that could ease tensions between the two sides.
Ambassador Khalaf added that Abdel-Aati reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting a negotiated settlement to the crisis. He emphasized that Cairo will continue working closely with regional partners to promote a solution that addresses the concerns of all parties and reinforces regional security and stability.
