Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar issued a joint statement denouncing repeated incursions by extremist Israeli settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif under Israeli military protection, as well as the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards.
The ministers described these acts as provocative violations of international law and UN resolutions, warning that they undermine the historical and legal status of Jerusalem’s holy sites. They reaffirmed the exclusive authority of the Jordanian Awqaf to manage Al-Aqsa and stressed that its entire 144-dunum area is a place of worship solely for Muslims.
The statement held Israel responsible for escalating tensions and destabilizing efforts toward peace, calling for an immediate halt to illegal practices. The ministers reiterated their solidarity with the Palestinian people and support for their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
