Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company — the Egyptian national carrier and a member of Star Alliance — welcomed Theo Panagiotoulias, CEO of Star Alliance, along with his accompanying delegation at the company’s headquarters in Cairo.
The meeting discussed various means of enhancing co-operation and developing services rendered to the clients and members of the alliance.
The discussions were attended by Captain Sherif Khalil, Assistant Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company; Captain Mohamed Alyan, Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines; and Rabab Hamdy, Head of Alliances Sector at EgyptAir Holding Company.
On this occasion, Adel expressed his pleasure at receiving Theo Panagiotoulias, emphasising that the visit represents a massage of international confiance in EgyptAir’s capabilities and reflects the growing appreciation of the airline’s role within the alliance, as well as the depth of co-operation between both sides.
Adel added that EgyptAir is moving forward with an ambitious fleet modernisation programme using the latest aviation technologies.
The programme supports the airline’s expansion plans across its route network, strengthens its position as a major regional air transport hub, keeps pace with market demands and international standards, improves operational efficiency, and enhances the level of service provided under the EgyptAir brand globally.
The visit coincided with EgyptAir receiving its third Boeing B737-8 MAX aircraft as part of an order for 18 aircraft of the same model. Captain Ahmed Adel and Theo Panagiotoulias witnessed the arrival of the new aircraft at Cairo International Airport.
For his part, Panagiotoulias stated that EgyptAir’s development plan contributes to strengthening the airline’s competitiveness and supports Star Alliance’s global network.
He also praised the strategic steps taken by the company to improve the travel experience and enhance service quality, benefiting alliance members and reinforcing EgyptAir’s competitive position within the global network, in addition to its commitment to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability adopted by the alliance.
