Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held telephone conversations on Tuesday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, and U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khalaf said the intensive contacts aimed to coordinate regional and international efforts to reduce tensions and contain the volatile situation.
Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of sustaining U.S.–Iran negotiations, warning that continued escalation risks dragging the Middle East into chaos with global security implications. He highlighted the economic fallout of prolonged tensions, underscoring the need to safeguard freedom of navigation in international waterways.
The minister reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Gulf states against any threats to their security and stability.
