The exhibition will run for eight consecutive days, providing new clothing and essential supplies free of charge to students and support staff.

Egypt’s Grand Mufti Dr Nazir Ayyad, Acting Deputy of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ayman Abdel-Ghani, Advisor to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Secretary-General of the Zakat and Sadaqat House Dr Sahar Nasr, Executive Director of the Tahya Misr Fund Mr Tamer Abdel-Fattah, Governor of Cairo Dr Ibrahim Saber, President of Al-Azhar University Dr Salama Daoud, along with a number of senior officials, attended the opening ceremony.

The initiative aims to support over 15,000 students through the Student Solidarity Fund, alongside 2,000 members of support staff.

The exhibition features approximately 80,000 items of clothing, footwear and bags, in addition to 4,000 educational books.

As part of the initiative, 20 daughters of university employees were supported with household appliances and essential wedding items following social assessments.

In addition, 35 wheelchairs were distributed to students with disabilities to promote inclusivity.

On the sidelines of the initiative, the Bel Hana Wel Shefa “Arabic for Bon Appétit” sub-initiative distributed 2,000 cartons of essential food supplies, including 10 tonnes of fresh vegetables and 6 tonnes of meat and poultry.

Advisor to the Grand Imam Dr Sahar Nasr stated that the initiative reflects a practical model of social solidarity, combining material support with the preservation of human dignity.

Executive Director Mr Tamer Abdel-Fattah emphasised that the initiative demonstrates a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening social protection and supporting vulnerable groups across Egypt.
