CAIRO — Egyptian National Rowing Team member Hoda Fahmy achieved a historic breakthrough by winning the bronze medal in the lightweight women’s single sculls classic rowing competition at the Italy International Championship in Piediluco.
This achievement highlights the advancing level of Egyptian women rowers and their capacity to compete against global elites in major international arenas.

President of the Egyptian and Arab Rowing Federations Sherif El-Komaty described Fahmy’s achievement as a source of pride that confirms Egypt possesses talent capable of succeeding in the world’s most competitive tournaments.
He attributed the success to distinguished teamwork between the federation board, the athlete, and technical staff, reflecting institutional stability and development.
El-Komaty also extended congratulations to Fahmy and her technical team, commending the determination that drove this honorable result.
