President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call on Tuesday with Hungary’s Prime Minister-elect Péter Machar. The president congratulated Machar on his party’s victory in the parliamentary elections held on April 12, 2026, praising the democratic atmosphere of the process. He reaffirmed Egypt’s pride in its bilateral relations with Hungary, which have gained momentum in recent years, particularly since the elevation of ties to a strategic partnership in February 2023.

Egypt condemns settler incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque

Egypt has strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque area by Israeli settlers under police protection and the raising of the Israeli flag within its courtyards, describing the act as a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as an unacceptable provocation to the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

Foreign Ministry follows up on Egyptian citizen’s death in Dubai

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Tuesday that it continues to follow up on the circumstances surrounding the death of Egyptian citizen Diaa El-Din Shalaby Mohamed El-Awady, who passed away days ago at a hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. According to the statement, Egypt’s Consulate General in Dubai received the official medical report from UAE authorities, which confirmed that the death was natural, caused by a sudden heart attack, and that no criminal suspicion was involved.

PM reviews petroleum sector financing, foreign partners’ dues

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli chaired a meeting Tuesday evening to assess Egypt’s ability to secure financial resources for maintaining strategic reserves of petroleum products and to ensure timely payment of dues owed to foreign partners in the energy sector. The session was attended by Central Bank Governor Hassan Abdullah, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, and Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy.

FIFA adds extra World Cup tickets

ZURICH — FIFA is putting more World Cup tickets on sale after angering some fans by adding new, more expensive categories.  Soccer’s governing body announced Tuesday it will make more tickets available on Wednesday for all 104 games in Categories 1, 2 and 3 plus the new “front category” pricing it added this month, AP reported.
