Egyptian Minister of Environment Yasmin Fuoad has held a series of meetings on the sidelines of her participation in the MENA Regional Dialogue For Climate Action, that kicked off Sunday in the United Arab Emirates, ahead of the Leaders Summit on Climate to take place in Washington DC later this month and in the run-up to the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26).

A statement issued by her ministry on Monday said she met with Dr Sultan Al-Jaber, the UAE official envoy for climate change to discuss joint cooperation in various domains including how to confront the effects of climate change on the agriculture sector and water desalination.

The statement pointed out that Fuoad met with the head of the United Kingdom delegation to the gathering and discussed with him efforts exerted by Egypt and the United Kingdom to deal with the repercussions of climate change.

The gathering is attended by high-profile officials from the United States, the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Oman to discuss cooperation and render COP26 conference a success.
