Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy met on Wednesday with a delegation from Visa to discuss ways to benefit from the company’s global expansion.
The minister reviewed the unique diversity of Egypt’s tourism offerings, highlighting the importance of integrating various tourism products and experiences to attract a wider range of visitors.
He also noted the emergence of new tourism experiences in recent years, reflecting the richness and diversity of Egypt’s tourism potential.
The discussions addressed the general framework for proposed cooperation, in light of Visa’s extensive global presence, accounting for around 60% of global payments.
This, he noted, presents promising opportunities to enhance electronic payment systems within Egypt’s tourism sector and facilitate a smoother experience for tourists throughout their journey in the Egyptian destination.
For their part, Visa representatives expressed keen interest in strengthening cooperation with the ministry, noting the steady growth of Egypt’s tourism sector and its diverse range of tourism products and patterns.
They also conveyed readiness to establish a strategic partnership aimed at supporting Egypt’s tourism destination through the development of innovative digital payment solutions covering all aspects of the tourist experience.
