Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Hussein Eissa, has reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to consolidating economic co-operation with the UAE, as well as advancing investment partnerships across priority sectors.

Eissa highlighted numerous promising opportunities to further develop bilateral relations.

He also emphasised the government’s readiness to engage with investors, address challenges, and provide a supportive environment conducive to sustainable growth.

Eissa met on Monday with the UAE Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi.

At the outset, Eissa described the meeting as an important opportunity to reaffirm the depth and strength of the longstanding Egypt–UAE relationship, particularly in the economic sphere.

He noted that Emirati investments are among the most significant in the Egyptian market, reflecting advanced co-operation and mutual trust between the two countries.

Ambassador Al Zaabi expressed appreciation for the continued support provided by the Egyptian leadership and for the close coordination maintained between the two countries at all levels. He commended Egypt’s pivotal role in regional mediation efforts aimed at achieving ceasefires and promoting stability.

The ambassador highlighted the rapid growth in economic and trade relations, praising Egypt’s proactive approach in engaging Emirati companies during official visits and addressing investors’ concerns, which enhances the investment climate.

He also noted progress in implementing the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between Egypt and the UAE and expressed confidence it will significantly boost joint investments.

Al Zaabi conveyed the UAE’s intention to expand investments in Egypt, particularly in key sectors.

Successful joint projects were cited, including a solar panel manufacturing facility in Ain Sokhna and a major logistics hub developed by DP World, underscoring Egypt’s capabilities and its position as a reliable and strategic partner across sectors of mutual interest.
