Orange Egypt announced the renewal of its partnership with El Gouna city, one of Orascom Development cities in the Red Sea, for the next five years as the city’s official provider of integrated telecommunications solutions.

This comes as part of the two companies’ shared ambition to provide innovative services powered by smart technologies that cater to the diverse demands of El Gouna City’s communities.

Accordingly, Orange will continue to provide El Gouna with Triple-Play services through optical fiber, including high-speed internet, fixed-line telephone, and IPTV in a bundled package, as well as Wi-Fi networks for the city’s hotels and resorts. Orange will achieve this by utilizing the most well-known smart city technologies available globally, such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart home services.

Eng. Yasser Shaker, CEO and Managing Director of Orange Egypt, expressed his delight at the prospect of renewing cooperation with a giant entity such as Orascom Development and El Gouna city.

“At Orange, we have the necessary local and worldwide competence to supply, run, and manage highly efficient smart and integrated services in accordance with international standards which empowered Orange Egypt to be the largest provider of smart and integrated services in Egypt,” he added.
Eng. Omar Al-Hamamsi, CEO of Orascom Development Holding, stated, “Renewing our partnership with Orange Egypt ensures and maintains the quality of services provided in El Gouna in accordance with the highest international standards for advanced and sustainable smart cities.

“For more than 33 years, El Gouna has succeeded in becoming an advanced multicultural community, a center for innovation and entrepreneurship, and a hub for international cultural and sports events. Hence, we are always keen to establish successful specialized partnerships that ensure the provision of the latest advanced technological services in line with our vision of smart cities. Additionally, we will launch new services for startups as well as provide the El Gouna community with the fastest internet in Egypt with speeds of up to 300 Mbps,” added Al-Hamamsi.

It’s worth mentioning that Orange will continue to upgrade its technologies and smart city services in El Gouna to ensure providing its tourists with the most advanced communication services in accordance with the highest international standards for advanced smart cities.

Notably, Orange is a leader in smart city solutions, which includes, but is not limited to solutions to improve efficiency and energy consumption, electronic gate control management, surveillance cameras, and smart solutions for offices, homes, and cities, as well as e-payment solutions and cloud computing services for startups.
