CAIRO — Minister of Youth and Sports Goher Nabil hailed Egypt’s successful bid to host the 2028 World Aerobics Championships, describing it as a clear reflection of the strong international confidence in the country’s ability to stage and deliver major global sporting events.
Nabil noted the 2028 edition is expected to attract about 1,500 athletes from all over the world, which will only strengthen Egypt’s reputation as a leading destination on the international sports map.
During a meeting with Ehab Amin, President of the Egyptian and African Gymnastics Federations and Executive Committee member of the International Gymnastics Federation, the minister reviewed Egypt’s preparations to host the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup. That event’s set for April 3–6 at the Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex.
Nabil checked in on how preparations are coming along and confirming that the tournament will feature some of the world’s top gymnasts, including China, Brazil, Russia, and Belarus.
For the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, athletes from 33 countries and a total of 128 competitors are expected. Egypt’s national team will have 10 athletes in the mix.
