Gov’t steps up efforts to ensure stable supply of basic goods

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa chaired a meeting on Sunday to review government measures aiming to ensure the availability of basic commodities. 

The meeting is part of the ongoing tireless monitoring of the repercussions of the US–Israel–Iran war and its negative impact, at the local and global levels, Minister Issa said. 

Egypt to relaunch Citizen Bond via post offices after strong debut

Citizen Bond will be offered again nationwide through post offices over the coming days, following strong demand during the initial issuance, which generated significant proceeds within three weeks.

The bonds offer a fixed annual return of 17.75 per cent, net of taxes, paid monthly over an 18-month period. They carry a nominal value of EGP 1,000 and its multiples, with a minimum investment of EGP 10,000. The minister described them as a secure, direct investment in government securities, designed to provide citizens with a stable monthly income.

Egypt, Pakistan eye stronger economic ties, urge regional de-Escalation

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held talks in Islam Abad on Sunday with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on strengtheningbilateral relations, and regional developments.

Abdel-Aati met Dar during his visit to Pakistan where he is participating in a quadrilateral ministerial meeting that will address on regional developments and ongoing efforts to pronotede-escalation, and reduce tensions, according to ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
