Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa chaired a meeting on Sunday to review government measures aiming to ensure the availability of basic commodities.

The meeting featured the Ministers of Supply, Sherif Farouk, Agriculture, Alaa El-Din Farouk, and Deputy Agriculture Minister Mostafa El-Sayyad, as well as senior officials from the Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development.

The meeting is part of the ongoing tireless monitoring of the repercussions of the US–Israel–Iran war and its negative impact, at the local and global levels, Minister Issa said.

He also stressed that the state is hard at work to secure sufficient reserves of essential goods for extended periods, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, and to stabilize markets and prices.

Other official taking part in the meeting confirmed the availability of safe reserves of key commodities and discussed expanding fixed and mobile outlets nationwide in cooperation with chambers of commerce to ensure fair distribution.

They also probed expansion of the “one-day markets” across governorates, allowing consumers to buy directly from producers at competitive prices.

The government pledged to intensify inspection campaigns to maintain market discipline and ensure goods reach citizens at fair prices and proper quality. Continuous coordination among executive bodies and utility companies was emphasized to guarantee rapid response and stability in supply chains.
