Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aaty received a phone call on Wednesday from  Senior Adviser to the US President for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos as part of the ongoing coordination between Cairo and Washington on regional and international issues.

Boulos conveyed the appreciation of US President Donald Trump to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He praised President Sisi’s leadership role in the region.

He also commended Egypt’s efforts to promote calm and support regional stability, particularly on the Iranian file.

He highlighted Egypt’s credible role in containing crises and opening communication channels.

The call addressed the latest military escalation in the region with Minister Abdel-Aaty stressing the need for joint regional and international action to reduce tensions.

He warned against further slide toward instability and chaos.

He pointed to the severe economic impact of the ongoing conflict, noting that it affects Egypt and the global economy.

He also cited disruptions to international shipping, supply chains, and rising oil, food prices and inflation.

The two sides also discussed developments in Sudan. They stressed the importance of reaching a temporary humanitarian truce as a prelude to ceasefire and a Sudanese-led political process.

Minister Abdel-Aaty underlined support for Sudan’s state institutions. He stressed that they must not be equated with illegal armed militias.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of any threat to Sudan’s unity or territorial integrity.

Both sides agreed on the need to intensify international efforts. They called for stronger humanitarian response and ensuring aid access across Sudan.
