Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati held phone talks on Monday with Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh to discuss developments in the West Bank and Gaza, and their impact on security and stability in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Abdel-Aati condemned the rising attacks by settlers against Palestinian civilians and their property in the West Bank.

These acts constitute a clear violation of international law and undermine prospects for peace, he stressed.

He stressed the importance of moving forward with the 2nd  phase of President Trump’s plan, in full. This includes deploying an international stabilization force and enabling the Gaza administrative committee to assume its duties, paving the way for the Palestinian Authority to fully resume its responsibilities.

He also underlined the need to preserve the territorial unity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, rejecting any displacement plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, describing this as a key pillar of the two-state solution.

The two sides agreed on the need to maintain focus on ongoing violations in Gaza and the West Bank, despite growing international attention on escalating tensions linked to Iran.

They stressed the importance of intensifying international efforts to halt escalation, protect civilians, promote dialogue, and create conditions for resuming a political process toward a just and comprehensive settlement.

For his part, Al-Sheikh highly appreciated Egypt’s continued support for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation in the coming period.
