The Egyptian Red Crescent announced on Sunday that it has received the 23rd group of wounded, sick, and injured Palestinians, along with their companions, on the third day of Eid al-Fitr.

This follows a temporary suspension of operations due to the repercussions of the Israeli-Iranian conflict.

The organisation reaffirmed its ongoing humanitarian role in receiving and assisting Palestinian civilians, as well as facilitating their movement and completing crossing procedures.

Its teams remain deployed at the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing, where they are providing a range of relief services.

These include psychological support for children, family reunification assistance, the provision of hot meals, and the distribution of clothing and personal hygiene supplies.

In addition, “return kits” are being provided to those travelling back to the Gaza Strip, the organisation said in a statement.

The Red Crescent also confirmed the launch of the first “Zad Al-Ezza” convoy following convoy number 160.

The convoy is carrying more than 1,600 tonnes of comprehensive humanitarian aid, including food parcels, flour, essential relief materials, petroleum products required to operate hospitals and critical facilities, as well as basic winter supplies.Since the beginning of the crisis, the Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a continuous presence at the border.

The Rafah crossing has remained operational from the Egyptian side, allowing humanitarian activities to proceed.

The organisation continues to operate at full logistical readiness across its centres and has facilitated the delivery of more than 800,000 tonnes of aid to date, supported by the efforts of over 65,000 volunteers.
