The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs announced the start of disbursing a LE1,500 grant for 229,303 registered informal workers as of Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
The disbursement will continue for a full month and will be available at post office branches nationwide.
Recipients can collect the grant using their national ID card if they are listed in the ministry’s database and employed by registered companies and contractors.
This initiative follows the directives of the political leadership to provide ongoing support to informal workers, strengthening the social protection system for this group.
The grant aims to ensure access to healthcare and social services, particularly during religious holidays, thereby alleviating financial pressures on workers and their families.
The LE1,500 grant forms part of the ministry’s social and healthcare package for informal workers and will be disbursed directly from the ministry’s central account dedicated to social and healthcare services for this sector.
The ministry reaffirms its commitment to supporting informal workers and enhancing their social and economic well-being.
