Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid handed golden licenses to eight Egyptian, Arab, and foreign projects worth 1.2 billion dollars and 16 billion Egyptian pounds. The projects cover energy, transport, manufacturing, logistics, and food.

The golden license is a single approval that allows investors to establish, build, operate, and manage projects without going through multiple agencies. It is issued within 20 working days once documents are complete.

Among the licensed projects: a car factory in Sixth of October City worth 6.35 billion pounds, creating 1,000 jobs; a Swiss‑run dry port in 10th of Ramadan City costing 115.4 million dollars, with 650 jobs; a soda ash plant in Matrouh worth 680 million dollars, employing 600 directly and 2,000 indirectly; and a silicon purification plant worth 172 million dollars.

Other projects include a wind power station at 207.5 million dollars, a Chinese office supplies factory at 8.7 billion pounds, a linen and textile plant at 58 million dollars, and a food complex in Sadat City worth 1 billion pounds.

Farid said the licenses show Egypt’s commitment to speeding investment and building trust in the business climate. He added that digital licensing will reduce bureaucracy and help Egypt become a regional hub for industry and logistics.

So far, 52 companies have received golden licenses.
