Egypt’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday warning of the dangerous escalation in the region. It noted the widening conflict and the targeting of civilian and oil facilities, which could push the region into chaos. The ministry stressed the importance of respecting international law, humanitarian law, and the UN Charter, which prohibit attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Egypt strongly condemned Iran’s strike on a residential compound in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. It expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, Iraq, and Jordan, rejecting any Iranian aggression against them.
The statement also renewed Egypt’s condemnation of Israeli attacks in Lebanon, which have displaced more than 600,000 people. Egypt reaffirmed its support for Lebanon and rejected violations of its sovereignty.
In addition, Egypt denounced Israel’s repeated practices in the West Bank, including land confiscation and settlement expansion, describing them as clear violations of international law.
The ministry emphasized the need for wisdom and dialogue instead of military solutions. It urged efforts to reduce tensions through diplomacy, self-restraint, and respect for regional and international peace and security.
