The government has approved an agreement to conduct a comprehensive airborne geophysical survey across the country.

This marks a significant step in the government’s strategy to modernise the mining sector and increase its contribution to the national economy.

The agreement was concluded between the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority and the international geophysical services company X-Calibur, under the framework of the development strategy led by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

The project will cover six geographical zones across Egypt and will employ the latest global technologies in airborne geophysical surveying.

Survey operations will be carried out using advanced aircraft and specialised technologies operated by X-Calibur, in close co-operation with national institutions, particularly the Nuclear Materials Authority. The collaboration aims to leverage the authority’s accumulated scientific and technical expertise, helping enhance the accuracy of survey results and improve the technical outputs of the project.

The initiative represents a key milestone in implementing one of Egypt’s major strategic national projects aimed at strengthening the country’s mining sector.

It will also establish a modern, high-precision geophysical database that will support the updating of Egypt’s national geological map and help the government prepare and present new mining investment opportunities based on advanced scientific and technical standards.

X-Calibur is internationally recognised for its advanced capabilities in collecting, integrating, and analysing multi-source geophysical data using modern digital systems and artificial intelligence technologies
