Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar and Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad discussed the preparations and equipment for Egypt’s hosting of the Summit of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).

The two ministers discussed the mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two ministries related to the organization.

They agreed to specify the airports of Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Taba to accommodate about 30,000 participants from different countries of the world.

Minister Manar stressed the importance of good preparation and organization for this important event by providing all facilities and logistic services on the part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its subsidiaries.

He added that a committee has been formed to follow up on the preparations for the conference and work teams will be formed to follow up on the arrival and travel of delegations and allocate counters for them to expedite the completion of procedures.

The minister also pointed out that flights between Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh will be intensified during the conference in addition to presenting a distinguished package of tourism programmes for conference guests and organizing an advertising campaign on board EgyptAir planes.

Minister Fouad, meanwhile, explained that videos about climate change and information about Egypt’s hosting of COP27 will be prepared and displayed on screens in all Egyptian airports and on board aircraft and a number of billboards will be placed inside airports before and throughout the conference.
