Tourism booms across Egypt’s regional airports 10 - Egyptian Gazette

By Mohamed Attia

Egyptian airports are currently seeing a major boost in activity, handled with impressive efficiency under the leadership of Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company Pilot Wael el-Nashar.

Despite the busy Ramadan season, flight operations have remained smooth and steady.

This success highlights the strength of Egypt’s aviation system and its ability to manage high volumes of both international and domestic travellers while maintaining top-tier service and safety.

Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh remain the top choices for sun-seekers, with Hurghada alone welcoming over 225,000 passengers from countries like Germany, France, and the UK.

Sharm El Sheikh followed closely, bringing in more than 178,000 visitors.

These numbers prove that Egypt’s coastal resorts remain a favourite destination for European tourists during the winter months.

In Upper Egypt, cultural tourism is also thriving. Luxor and Aswan airports saw a combined total of over 85,000 passengers, with many travellers arriving from Spain, France, and Italy to explore Egypt’s ancient history.

Meanwhile, Sphinx and Assiut airports are playing a key role in regional travel, connecting Egypt with major cities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait.

This overall growth is a result of well-coordinated teamwork and high operational standards.

From ground staff to public relations, every department is focused on making the travel experience easy and safe for visitors.

As these numbers continue to rise, Egypt’s airports are proving they are fully prepared to support the country’s growing tourism industry.
