The Minister emphasised that air safety remains the primary foundation for the sector’s sustainable growth and is a top priority for the Ministry.

This announcement took place during a meeting between el-Hefny and a delegation from the FAA, attended by Captain Sameh Fawzy, Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, and representatives from the US Embassy.

The gathering served as a platform to reveal the results of a comprehensive audit and evaluation conducted by the American administration to assess Egypt’s aviation infrastructure.

El-Hefny noted that the positive outcome of the assessment is the result of dedicated institutional efforts and seamless coordination between various stakeholders.

He highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to updating legislative frameworks and enhancing training programmes.

These steps ensure that the Egyptian aviation sector continues to align with the best global practices and international safety benchmarks.

The Minister extended his gratitude to the teams at the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority for their exceptional performance during the audit process.

He praised their high level of competence and disciplined professionalism, which successfully showcased the strength of the Egyptian civil aviation system to the international community.

The audit followed a series of consultations focused on how well national laws and regulations comply with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards.

The review specifically targeted personnel licensing, aircraft operations, and airworthiness. It also scrutinised the eight essential elements required for an effective and reliable air safety oversight system.

The results of the audit confirmed the efficiency of Egypt’s supervisory system and the effectiveness of its organisational structure.

The evaluation proved that Egypt possesses highly qualified technical personnel and maintains a strict commitment to applying international standards across all civil aviation activities.

The US inspection team expressed their admiration for the high level of professionalism and disciplined performance they witnessed within the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. They affirmed that the current operational system reflects clear institutional development and a continuous dedication to raising oversight levels to match the highest global standards.

Passing this critical assessment marks a significant milestone that enhances Egypt’s reputation within the global aviation sector.

This achievement builds international confidence in the Egyptian air safety system and is expected to further support and strengthen air traffic connectivity between Egypt and the United States.
