RABAT – The government in Morocco announced it will reopen its airspace to international flights as of Monday after passenger flights were suspended due to concerns over coronavirus.
The Moroccan government said the flights will resume to and from the kingdom starting from today, Belgium’s RTBF channel reported on Monday.
The decision was taken following an accurate assessment of recent developments of the pandemic situation of novel Covid-19 in the kingdom.
To cope with the process of applying this decision, a technical committee is currently studying the necessary measures and procedures at the level of border points and the necessary requirements for travelers,” the government said.
Many Moroccan people stay in Belgium and await the resumption of air travel to head to the kingdom to see and meet their families or friends, according to the channel.
For those persons, the decision of resuming direct flights to Morocco is “good news,” it added.
