Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted that the return and resettlement of families to their residential units following the completion of restoration works in the “Darb Al-Labbana” area as part of the Historic Cairo Revival Project, sends a clear message reflecting the state’s commitment to striking a balance between preserving heritage and improving citizens’ quality of life.

He stressed that development projects do not aim at removal or exclusion, but rather focus on revitalization and renewal while safeguarding rights and preserving human dignity.

This came during MadboulI’s follow-up meeting with Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber and Head of the Urban Development Fund Khaled Seddik regarding the handover and resettlement of returning families to their restored housing units in Darb Al-Labbana.

MadboulI noted that the achievements realized in Darb Al-Labbana serve as a model for what the state seeks to implement across Historic Cairo and other heritage sites, through scientific planning, precise execution and close cooperation between state institutions and local residents.

For his part, Saber said that the governorate, in coordination with all relevant authorities, was keen to implement development works according to accurate scientific and technical standards to preserve the historical identity of Darb Al-Labbana, improve utilities and services and upgrade housing units to ensure safety and security for all residents.

Meanwhile, Seddik said that this achievement reflects the commitment to implementing the political leadership’s directives to revive heritage and enhance citizens’ quality of life.
