Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday asserted that the Egyptian police protect Egypt and its people from risks and threats.
In remarks delivered during the celebration marking the 74th anniversary of Police Day at the headquarters of Police Academy, president Sisi said that the police force is made up of the sons and daughters of the Egyptian people.
The president added that the young men and women taking part in the parade represent families from all over Egypt and are present to safeguard the country’s security.
Sisi said “I stress this because some may attempt to distort the image. We are protecting a state and its people—not a regime. What is being done is not aimed at protecting individuals, but at safeguarding a state from dangers and threats we have faced in recent years, which have not yet ended.”
