Egypt has unveiled an expansive and immersive presence at the 46th International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2026), taking place in Madrid from January 21 to January 25.

This year, the Egyptian pavilion spans a total area of 437 square meters, complemented by an 80-square-meter upper deck. It serves as a vibrant platform for 50 exhibitors representing the private sector, including 25 travel agencies and 25 hotels, as well as dedicated sections for the Chamber of Hotel Establishments and the Chamber of Tourism Companies and Travel Agencies.

Designed to engage both travel professionals and visitors, the two-story pavilion includes dedicated meeting rooms for high-level discussions and a lounge area providing refreshments.

A highlight of the Egyptian presence at FITUR 2026 is a special exhibition of replicas of King Tutankhamun’s treasures.

Set across 418 square meters, the micro-museum replicates key galleries of the Grand Egyptian Museum and features 54 detailed artefact reproductions, crafted by Egypt’s Konouz Misr Company, including the king’s iconic golden mask, ceremonial throne, golden sarcophagus, a selection of unique jewelry, and his festive chair.

The exhibit offers visitors a unique window into the legacy of ancient Egypt, right in the heart of Madrid.

To complement the cultural experience, the pavilion uses multiple digital screens to present engaging promotional films under the slogan “Unmatched Diversity.”

These films showcase the breadth of Egypt’s tourism offerings and styles, highlight the country’s diverse travel experiences, and position Egypt as a leading global destination.

In addition to the exhibits, the Egyptian delegation is hosting interactive promotional activities, such as tourism-themed competitions and live musical performances by a harpist, to create a memorable and interactive environment for all visitors.

At the start of the expo, eye-catching ads showcasing Egypt’s rich history and beautiful resorts are lighting up Madrid Airport, city streets, and even buses in both Madrid and Barcelona.

Promotional videos are being displayed throughout the exhibition centre, while leading Spanish travel companies are joining forces to introduce more people to Egypt. The goal is to ensure that Spanish tourists feel warmly welcomed and excited to discover all that Egypt has to offer.

The Spanish market is one of the key tourism sectors targeted by Egypt, and it remains a significant source of inbound visitors to the country.

In 2025, Egypt welcomed a record number of Spanish tourists, receiving approximately 242,000 visitors, a remarkable 67 per cent increase compared to 2024.

FITUR 2026 attracts participation from more than 156 countries and over 9,000 exhibiting companies, drawing around 255,000 visitors to the event.
