Minister of Civil Aviation Dr Sameh el-Hefny recently participated as a key member of the examination committee for a doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Commerce, Port Said University.
The dissertation, submitted by researcher Ayman Mohamed Emara – one of EgyptAir’s dedicated professionals – is titled “The Role of Electronic Customer Relationship Management (E-CRM) as a Mediating Variable in the Relationship Between Digital Transformation and Achieving Sustainable Competitive Advantage: A Case Study of EgyptAir.”

This academic work provides a strategic roadmap for integrating digital solutions and customer-centric technologies to ensure the long-term success of the national carrier in the competitive global aviation market.
The high-profile discussion committee featured a panel of distinguished academic experts, including Dr Mohamed Namar, Professor of Business Administration at Sohag University, and Dr Phoebe Noshi, Acting Head of the Business Administration Department at Port Said University, both serving as examiners.

The research was conducted under the supervision of Wael Zakaria al-Sawy, Professor of Business Administration at Port Said University.
The event was further elevated by the attendance of notable figures, including Dr Mahmoud Hussain, former member of the House of Representatives, and was hosted by Sherif Saleh, President of Port Said University.
Following the defense, el-Hefny shared his profound personal joy in returning to the Faculty of Commerce at Port Said University.

He emphasised his deep-rooted connection to the institution as a proud alumnus who earned his own doctorate from this prestigious academic landmark.
The Minister thanked the university leadership for their warm hospitality.
