Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, expressed his profound appreciation for the longstanding and distinguished defence partnership between Egypt and the United States, emphasising the General Command’s commitment to expanding areas of co-operation to serve the shared strategic interests of both nations.
During a meeting with General Brad Cooper, Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), and the accompanying delegation visiting Egypt, Lieutenant General Khalifa underscored the importance of continued coordination between the two militaries.
The discussions addressed a range of strategic topics, including developments in the regional security landscape and efforts to enhance stability.
In this respect, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to supporting joint Egyptian-American initiatives aimed at solidifying the ceasefire in Gaza and increasing the flow of humanitarian assistance in line with Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Agreement.
The meeting also explored opportunities for strengthening military co-operation between the two countries.
General Brad Cooper praised Egypt’s pivotal role in advancing peace and stability across the region.
He also commended the exceptional organisation and high standard of the fourth edition of the International Defence Industries Exhibition (EDEX 2025), which showcased advanced military systems and technologies from leading global defence institutions.
