Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa met Thursday with Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) Admiral Brad Cooper and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Egypt.
The meeting discussed a number of topics of mutual interest, regional developments and efforts to support security and stability in the region, including joint Egyptian-US efforts to maintain ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to increase the delivery of humanitarian aid under the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement, as well as ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
The chief of staff voiced pride in the longstanding relations between the two sides, noting the Egyptian Armed Forces’ commitment to strengthening military cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both friendly nations.
For his part, the US CENTCOM chief highlighted Egypt’s important role in consolidating peace and stability in the region and praised the organizational capabilities and high standards of the fourth edition of the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2025), featuring displays of the latest weapons and equipment from leading defense companies and organizations worldwide.
A number of Egyptian and US armed forces top brass took part in the meeting.
