The Egyptian national karate team has achieved a monumental victory, securing first place at the World Championships for Seniors and People with Disabilities, recently held in Cairo.
Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi extended his profound congratulations to the entire team and the Egyptian Karate Federation, emphasizing the significance of this achievement as clear evidence of Egypt’s powerful resurgence in international karate.

Minister Sobhi stated, “I congratulate the Egyptian national karate team on this historic achievement, which reflects their strong will and tremendous efforts to reach the top of the world. “

He also said that the Pharaohs of karate’s victory at the World Championships in Cairo, after an absence of more than 37 years, is clear evidence of Egypt’s strong return to the international stage in karate and our continued leadership in world championships for adults and athletes with disabilities.
Sobhi confirmed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to providing national champions with all necessary support to maintain this high standard and achieve even greater accomplishments in the future.

The senior national team impressively topped the overall rankings, earning four medals, which included three coveted gold medals won by Ahlam Youssef, Abdullah Mamdouh, and Youssef Badawy, along with a bronze medal secured by Aya Hesham.

Furthermore, the Egyptian national Parakarate team (People with Disabilities) clinched the championship title for the third consecutive year.

They topped their medal table with an exceptional performance, winning a total of nine medals: four gold, one silver, and four bronze. Egypt’s outstanding tally significantly surpassed second-place Italy, which secured only four medals.
The gold medalists in the Parakarate category were Abdel Aziz Assem and Fatima Abdel Badi (Physical Disability), Ahmed Wahid (Intellectual Disability), and Rawan Khalil (Visual Impairment).
Marwa Ahmed won the silver medal, while Salma Alaa El-Din, Judy Ashraf, Jana Abdel Badi, and Abdel Rahman Ehab each contributed a bronze medal. Additionally, several athletes, including Rehab Anwar, Mohamed El-Laqani, and Hazem Sayer El-Sabbagh, achieved high rankings, finishing in fifth place across their respective competitions.

This landmark championship not only confirms the success of Egypt’s organization, which garnered praise from all participating delegations for its outstanding technical and administrative level, but also signifies the nation’s robust return to the global forefront of world karate competition after more than two decades of absence.
