EgyptAir Holding Company is actively exploring the possibility of launching direct flight services between Cairo and Dakar, Senegal, as part of its strategy to expand its network across the African continent and bolster bilateral trade and economic ties.

Chairman and Managing Director of EgyptAir Holding Company Pilot Ahmed Adel hosted a high-level delegation from the Republic of Senegal.

The delegation included Ambassador Kimoko Diakité, Ambassador of Senegal to Cairo and Minister Plenipotentiary, accompanied by Mr Mumi Diop, Second Counselor for Economic Affairs, and Mr El Hadj Malick Seck, First Secretary and Head of Consular Affairs.

The strategic meeting focused on enhancing air traffic and mutually supporting trade activities between Egypt and Senegal through the establishment of a direct air link.

Adel underscored EgyptAir’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Africa, stating, “EgyptAir attaches great importance to reinforcing its footprint within the African continent and is consistently striving to initiate new avenues of cooperation with our brothers in Senegal.

This cooperation would represent a significant enhancement, serving passengers effectively and substantially bolstering the economic and trade relations between our two nations.”

Ambassador Diakité conveyed his profound appreciation for the regional leadership role of EgyptAir as one of Africa’s oldest carriers.
He reiterated Senegal’s strong desire to intensify joint cooperation and explore promising economic partnerships with EgyptAir.
