During the Dubai Airshow 2025, Flydubai signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus to purchase 150 A321neo aircraft, valued at $24 billion, marking the airline as a new customer for Airbus aircraft.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Flydubai, signed the MoU with Christian Scherer, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, on the second day of the airshow. Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, was also present.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Fydubai, stated: “We are delighted to announce this historic agreement for the purchase of 150 Airbus A321neo aircraft, which represents another important milestone in Flydubai’s journey. This new agreement is not just about adding aircraft; it supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.”
He emphasized that this strategic addition will diversify Flydubai’s single-aisle fleet and enhance their long-term expansion plans. It will also enable Flydubai to play a key role in the success of the Al Maktoum International Airport expansion, an airport projected to become the largest in the world.

The Airbus A321neo aircraft will support the next phase of their network development, allowing them to meet growing demand in their markets, and Flydubai looks forward to building a strong and lasting partnership with Airbus. The next-generation A321neo aircraft will support Flydubai’s network expansion strategy, enabling customers to access new destinations with greater efficiency and comfort.
