Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy Bassam Radi underscored that the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) reflects the sustained efforts and strategic vision of the Egyptian stateto present the nation’s archaeological treasures to the world in a manner befitting the grandeur of its civilisation.

Speaking at a promotional event for the GEM in Rome, Ambassador Radi emphasised that the museum embodies Egypt’s commitment to preserving its cultural and archaeological heritage, offering it to the global community as a vital component of humanity’s shared legacy and serving as a shining beacon of civilisation.

The event, hosted on Friday by the Egyptian Embassy in Rome in coordination with the Embassy’s Defence Office, took place in the heart of Italy’s capital and was attended by distinguished Italian officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and a number of Egyptology experts and archaeologists.

A detailed presentation introduced attendees to the museum’s architectural layout, exhibition halls, and the history of its construction, from the laying of the foundation stone to its official inauguration on November 1, highlighting GEM’s status as one of the world’s most significant cultural institutions.
