CAIRO – Presidential Adviser for Health and Prevention Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din highlighted President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives for localizing advanced pharmaceutical industries, especially oncology drugs and biological medicines.
In this regard, the president gave instructions to collaborate with reputable international companies and institutions with extensive expertise as well as innovation and manufacturing capabilities, he added.
Tag El-Din was speaking at the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between Germany’s Bayer AG and Minapharm Pharmaceuticals to localize women’s health drugs.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Ali el Ghamrawy, and was held on the sidelines of the Global Congress on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC’25).
Tag El-Din emphasized that the step aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development, and goes in line with the Egyptian state’s tendency towards boosting the local manufacturing of drugs.
