CAIRO – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli hailed the idea of organizing a winter festival at Fustat Hills Park as an “opportunity” to promote the park as a premium recreational and tourist destination in the heart of Cairo.
The premier made the remarks while reviewing a report submitted by Khaled Siddiq, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Urban Development Fund, on preparations for the launch of Fustat Winter Festival 2025, which will be hosted that will be hosted by Fustat Hills Park on Friday.
Fustat Hills Park project aims to add approximately 500 feddans of green space to the Old Cairo area, Siddiq said.
The park is considered one of the largest of its kind in the Middle East and features a wide range of activities celebrating Egyptian heritage across different eras, Siddiq said, adding that the park includes cultural, recreational, and commercial zones, hotel services, open-air theaters, archaeological excavation areas, and heritage gardens.
Organized by the Urban Development Fund, the winter festival is themed “Fustat is back again” and will be launched from the arena theater of the park.
The festival will run between November 14- December 5, featuring concerts by leading Egyptian artists.
Composer Omar Khairat will take part in the opening ceremony of the festival, his concert will followed by performances by a galaxy of Egyptian singers including Amal Maher, Tamer Ashour, Ahmed Saad and Marwan Moussa.
