CAIRO – Egyptian television is broadcasting the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) live on Saturday through a special all-day coverage across all its channels.
The National Media Authority decided to air the event in English and French on Nile TV International, alongside Channel Two, Nile Cinema, and Nile Drama.
In parallel, the Egyptian External Radio Network is providing multilingual coverage in 23 languages.

For the past two weeks, the external radio services aired announcements and informational segments highlighting preparations for the museum’s inauguration.
As part of the coverage, reporters from Nile Cultural Channel interviewed several leading Egyptologists from around the world, including Director of the Egyptian Museum in Berlin Friederike Seyfried.
Chairman of the National Media Authority Ahmed el Moslemany stated “We are witnessing one of the great days in our proud history, as we present once again the essence of our civilization within one monumental edifice.
“Today’s opening is not only a national Egyptian achievement but also a global one that belongs to all humanity and the collective creative spirit. It is not merely Egypt’s Grand Museum.”
